As a Therapeutic Sciences PhD student at Brown, Caitlin Hopkins conducts research in a biomedical engineering and pathology lab. She focuses her research on 3D cell culture, tissue engineering, and particularly the study of the extracellular matrix and associated alterations. Previously she focused her research on toxicology and biochemistry within in vitro models. On Friday, December 15, 2023, Caitlin successfully defended her PhD thesis entitled "TGF- β1 requires IL-13 to sustain collagen accumulation and increasing tissue strength and stiffness". Caitlin enjoyed a celebration on campus with her Advisor, Dr. Jeffrey Morgan, and Brown students, faculty and staff. Congratulations, Dr. Hopkins!
