Congratulations, Dr. Carley!

person with graduation cap, degree, and flowersAs a member of Dr. Alan Morrison’s laboratory at Brown, Rachel Carley studied the role of macrophage inflammation in vascular calcification. The primary goal of the Morrison Lab is to define a critical pathway of which inflammatory macrophage signaling modulates atherosclerosis and calcification. On April 25th, 2024, Rachel successfully defended her PhD thesis entitled “Rac1 and NF-κB Signaling Regulates Macrophage IL-1β Expression to Influence Atherosclerotic Calcification and SARS-CoV-2 Infection.” Rachel enjoyed a celebration on campus with her Advisor, Dr. Morrison, and Brown students, faculty and staff. She proudly participated in Brown's Doctoral Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, May 26th, 2024. Congratulations, Dr. Carley!
