Dominique Walker (Cuomo Lab) was one of a select group of adjudicated winners at the inaugural Biomed Celebration of Science for her poster presentation, titled: “Investigating genetic and molecular mechanisms of amphotericin B resistance in Candida auris". Her award‑winning poster was presented during the student poster session on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
The Celebration of Science was created in response to a need for stronger community building within the Division of Biology & Medicine, with the goal of moving beyond a traditional symposium format to create an inclusive space where all graduate students feel a sense of belonging.
Dominique’s poster stood out for her effective communication, clarity of presentation, and strong experimental design and analysis. Her work was also presented earlier in March at the Fungal Genetics Conference in California, which showcases cutting‑edge research across a wide range of topics in genetics and cell biology.
