Marty Taylor

Assistant Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine

Biography

The Taylor lab is working to build a molecular understanding of the human LINE-1 transposon (L1) and leverage transposon biology into novel strategies for early diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of cancer and autoimmunity. We are dissecting LINE mechanism and pathophysiology using tools from biochemistry, biophysics, structural biology, molecular biology, genomics, pharmacology, immunology, and cell biology to build a detailed molecular understanding of L1 function and L1:host interactions and their consequences. We also have significant interest and experience in signaling biology, with projects available in mTOR pathway, interactomics, and lysosome / autophagy biology.
